New Labour's thought police

Lindsay Hutchinson is well known in the Soho Ward of Birmingham. He speaks his mind, so not all tolerate him. Recently he put a poster in his window saying that imperialists should get out of Iraq. A member of the Labour Party didn't like it so he reported Lindsay to the police and had him arrested.

Simon Baddeley, who supported Lindsay in court, sent me an account of what happened there.

Presumably New Labour's agent would have to pay costs. The arrogance of New Labour which got us into supporting the Neo-conservatives around Bush in getting us, not to mention the Iraqi people, into the current state is beyond belief.

On January 31st there will be a public meeting at Laurel Road Sports Centre, Laurel Road, Handsworth at 7.00 pm, which will discuss issues around stopping the war and Trident. Walter Wolfgang from Labour's NEC and Selma Yaqoob will be among the speakers. Clare Short MP and Hon. Alderman Phil Murphy are invited. I have been asked to chair.
