The Bleeding Continues 1948, 1967, 2007, until when?

The Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in cooperation with the Palestinian Political Factions the Local Organizations Committee in Bethlehem area are planning series of nonviolent activities to commemorate the 59th anniversary of Al-Nakba.

A number of nonviolent actions will take place during the week to commemorate the Nakba and to continue to resist the annexation wall and other forms of the Israeli occupation in Bethlehem as part of the "Stop the Bleeding of Bethlehem" campaign.

These actions will be organized to demand the International Community to implement the United Nation Security Council resolutions regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and in particular, 194, 242 and 338 and the to implement the ruling of the International Court of Justice at The Hague to dismantle the Illegal wall Israel is building on the occupied West Bank.

The actions will be held according to the following schedule:

1- Tuesday May 15, 2007, Sit-in Protest at Road 60, near Al-Khader village south of Bethlehem a nonviolent protest with Signs and Banners at 11:00 am.

2- Tuesday May 15, 2007, Sit-In Protest at the United Nations office in Bethlehem near Khamashta building (Bab Al-Zqaq) at 1:00 pm.

3- Friday May 18, 2007 nonviolent direct action at the construction site of the wall in Um Salamouna south of Bethlehem at 12:00 pm.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 marks the 59th anniversary for the Palestinian Nakba of 1948, when more than 700 thousand Palestinians were displaced from their homes and around 420 villages were destroyed by Jewish militias of the Irgun, Stern and the Hagana.
